John Tacey begins selling slates, chalk and sponges for use in the classroom. Philp & Tacey is incorporated in the UK.

1829

Philip & Tacey becomes the first supplier of Friedrich Froebel materials.

1918

Maria Montessori works closely with Frank Tacey to develop and produce math manipulatives.

1931

Unifix Cubes are invented by Charles Tacey – they are square and don’t roll off students desks like Poppet Beads.

1953

Didax is incorporated in Massachusetts to distribute Unifix materials into the United States.

1976

Didax develops Unifix Software to help students with disabilities to use Unifix materials.

1996

Didax develops AMC Anywhere, a digital assessment system for use with Unifix Cubes in partnership with Math Perspectives Teacher Development Center.

2006

Didax expands its assembly and fulfillment capability to supply manipulative kits to thousands of schools.

2014

Didax celebrates 45 years and thousands of original and useful teaching materials created.
